I had a galloping week last week in Kuching...catching up on events, friends, knowledge and planning. It was worth a trip though...but above all I got to eat "beehoon belacan" - something which i was craving for months. Interestingly the dish was not easily available in Miri. It was usually listed on the menu but the outcome was usually different..he!he!

Ulu lubai from the jungle to world stage

8.6.2012 - for the first time i step at ulu lubai, a remote Iban village in Ulu Limbang. I am on mission to meet the gritty grandmother who had singlehandedly brought up her grandson. The boy was abandoned by her parents when he was 5years old. Now he is 13years old. He has done well. Very bright student and he was selected to attend one of the country's top school.
I have to thank my guide and friend Chua. His superb driving skill saw us arriving safely at rh tugang through steep winding timber off road. The distance was about 55km but the journey nearly took us two hours. The weather was kind as well.
